LETTER TO TESLA” from the future is a seven-minute feature-documentary film in which twelve-year-old Lara writes an imaginary letter to Nikola Tesla. Through her words, the film travels between Tesla’s visionary ideas and the modern world shaped by them. Lara reflects on technology, humanity and the responsibility of future generations, questioning whether progress without compassion is enough. The film becomes a poetic dialogue through time and reminds us that Tesla’s greatest legacy, which is not only electricity, but the light of curiosity, kindness and imagination carried by those who come after him.


Author of the film:
Dragan Gavrilović is a documentarian and cinematographer from Melbourne. He was born in Zenica, where he devoted himself to the film industry early on. His 8 mm films participated in film festivals throughout Yugoslavia and won awards. He worked as a cameraman at Novi Sad television. He has been living in Melbourne since 1995, where he founded his studio and is one of the founders of Serbian television in Melbourne. His shows “Serbs from the Fifth Continent” are recognizable on RTS.
He is the author of the award-winning thirty-minute documentary about the Australian-Serbian writer Sreten Božić Wongar and the film “Wasteland” about miners in the remote town of Coober Pedy.
